The reason I didn't take a million dollars was simply that I didn't want any more things. I have no aversion to money. I do have an intention not to accumulate more things. Sometimes a duck is just a duck. Sometimes a no is a no to the object and not what it symbolizes.

Re: Not Everyone Wants a Million Dollars - Ahem ~ a facsimile of a million dollar bill is not a million dollars. Or did I show up at the booth too late?!

Re: Talking to People is a Great Way to Write Marketing Copy - Your comment is sooo true. A great way to practice this at home is to join your local Chamber of Commerce. Every month they probably have a First Friday meeting where almost everyone comes to practice their 30-second introduction with each other. You learn from practicing your own AND from listening to all others', as well.

(Nice meeting you in San Jose, Tina.)

I have a suggestion as to why your million dollar offer didn't go down so well with many people. Quite simply, many coaches feel uncomfortable around money and marketing. They came into coaching because they want to make a difference and either aren't (consciously at least) motivated by money, or don't want to be seen as motivated by money. For many I think that reaching out for a million dollars = greed - and they don't want to be seen as greedy.

Personally I don't have a problem if you want to send me a million dollars!
