Today is my birthday – and being that i’m now on the later side of my 30s (36 today to be exact) it’s not necessarily a big celebration day for me anymore. It’s not because my age bothers me at all – it’s more that the day-to-day reality of having small children trumps a big celebration for me at this stage in life (and i’m a-ok with that).

So I didn’t really give much thought to the fact that today was my birthday… just hopped into my day like I would any other Monday.

But I have to admit, despite my own lack of enthusiasm I was quite honestly tickled pink to receive a load of birthday wishes via Facebook today. I got almost 40 people who took a moment to send me a nice b-day wish… from good friends, long-time friends and people I don’t really know. Even Facebook sent me one!

(yes, i’m aware this is automated but still fun to see none the less.)

Made me feel like a queen for a day.

And just goes to show how powerful a tool Facebook can be. I was certainly feeling the love today, and plan on making a point to reach out and give a birthday wish to all my Facebook friends (on their birthday of course).
