So, what do you do?

At the dog park today I was asked a common question:
“What do you do?”
My answer? Some kind of obscure blithering about working with coaches and their businesses. Took me about 5 minutes to try to explain what I do, and i’m sure I confused the heck out of this guy in the process (I confused myself!). It wasn’t my shining moment to say the least.
So on the ride home it occured to me that there is a very simple answer to that question.
I help people build their businesses online.
Duh! Clear and simple answer. That really is what I do in a nutshell… too bad I thought of it after the fact, hehe. I’ll be armed and ready the next time i’m asked.
PS - Here’s a pic of me and my pup Katy. Aren’t we cute?

I love the dog park! It’s obviously one of my major marketing tools — and when people ask what I do for a living? I help busy professionals maintain their love affair with their pets!

Oh, My God!
Tina, I go through the same exact problem every time!
Depending on who is asking, I come up with different answers.
Once in a while, though, I find myself struggling - because I do so many different things - and then I wish I would’ve never opened my mouth LOL!
Usually, I’ll say, I have an internet based business.
Many times this is is sufficient.
If they ask, what kind of a business?
Then I am in trouble!
“Uh…I build web sites, coach people on how to self-publish books on the web, and how to find clients using the Internet…”
But then, I also create tools, programs, resources, write articles, publish a newsletter, conduct teleclasses, package audio products…
I love your way of simplifying. I think from now on, I’ll just say, “I help people build business online” - love it! Thank you, Tina!
