I think this is one of the greatest benefits of working virtually - decreases the tendency to micromanage people instead of details. The amount of time it will take to micromanage someone via the virtual process is much more exhausting and unproductive that in person. Therefore to get work done and time lines met, Managers and Supervisors may cease and desist from micromanaging.

I'm actually in the process of 'backing off' myself Susan - with some changes in my biz and handing things over to my team. Something i'm keeping an eye on as well, as I tend to get bogged down in the details and start micro-managing if i'm not careful.

Very timely! Just hiring a new support person for a big project. I am going to try just stepping back and only checking in. I know it drives me crazy to be micromanaged and I want to avoid doing the same as I branch out. As always thanks for the great reminders!
