Oh..I am a control freak myself and I think that might have been the cause of my recent “unnormal” contractions this days .. (I am in my 8th month of pregnancy) I fell in the trap! So your video is making me become aware of this fact now (sorry for my english..I try to do my best with it
)
I work with my own team, right now I have two great VA´s helping me run my business. But sometimes, specially when some issue gets too complicated like say..technical problems with migration of my sites to a new hosting.. (this is a true story, it took 3 weeks to transfer my sites to a new hosting due to problems with my old server!!) .. so when things become complex I notice I get in their way trying to make them manage and solve the situations exactly as I would, instead of giving them the chance to solve the obstacles and situations by themselves.
Trying to control everything we delegate can be a huge trap. A time trap, an energy trap.
I´m not saying we should not give feedback to the people we work with: they are not us, so they can not read our minds or anything, and though perhaps we might manage some situations or do some things better than they do, if we want to grow our business we have to let other people do some of the things we used to do for years and let go. We can – and must- give feedack in the areas we are most experienced at, and eventually they will learn to manage do the things as we would, but not right now.
Tina, thanks a LOT for sharing this with us, it helped me reflect on some important stuff about “the art of delegation”
have a nice weekend! Barbara
Awesome video. I can’t imagine my business getting larger than me and that will hinder my success. I never thought about it that way and now I wonder if that has always hindered my success in something. Once I see how big it can get do I self sabotage.
BTW- love the hair.
Interesting Tina. Yes, when you get into the 7 figure biz, it definitely becomes more than just the one who created it and is a major mind shift. Good position to be in if you ask me!
Hope your having fun at the conference.
