It’s All Fixable

If there is one piece of advice I could give people when working online it is this:

“It’s all fixable”

This really struck me this week, while training a VA for one of my clients.

As i’m showing her how to do some things, she would come back once or twice to make sure that she was ‘doing it right. There is nothing wrong with this by any means (it is always a preference to do stuff right the first time), however I could feel the stress it was causing her.

It occured to me that I really don’t have that worry anymore… meaning that i’m not so concerned with ‘doing it right’, for the simple reason that I know anything is fixable.

And I have to tell you, it’s a mighty fine way to do business in my opinion.

Cause the beauty of the internet is that it is really quite simple to fix a mistake.

Let’s say you send an email to your list and realize that you missed some vital information. Ooops! Well it is super easy to resend that email saying “I forgot to include this info”. Much easier than say a mistake on a print invitation in the ‘real world’.

Life is a flexible thing, with lots of room to grow and learn along the way. With the attitude that “its all fixable” you can really let loose a bit more and enjoy the journey of business.

  1. Tina,
This was a huge shift for me about a year ago. I believe my anxiety level dropped tremendously, I sleep better (not mulling all my mistakes at night)and my mind is calmer as I work, so I catch more stuff now anyway. I’ve worked with critical people and was raised by critical people, and I now let them have their space, AND don’t internalize their ‘direction’. This is powerful! Thanks for bringing it up.
